Psychotherapy

in London and online

I’m George Cumming-Bruce, a psychotherapist offering existential counselling sessions in London and online.

Finding a therapist can be a daunting process. It’s important to feel confident in the professional you work with. Have a look around this website to find out about my background and existential-phenomenological approach.

You might also want to read the information I share on what therapy is and the kinds of challenges that clients bring to sessions. Of course, every person’s experience is unique and I endeavour to meet each client with a fresh perspective.

If you have any questions or want to book in a session then don’t hesitate to contact me.

Over the past 8 years I have worked with a variety of clients in a range of settings. I have worked within the NHS, providing short term therapy (6 to 12 weeks) covering a wide variety of issues. I have also specialised in therapy for chronic pain at St Thomas’ Hospital, London. And I have provided longer term therapy (3 to 12 months) for clients referred through the mental health charity Mind.

In my private practice I predominantly see clients seeking support with depression, anxiety, addiction, crises of meaning, and chronic pain. But you do not need to meet a particular criteria in order to work with me. Every situation is unique and I aim to see each client ‘anew’.

My training was in Existential-Phenomenological therapy at the NSPC (find out more about this approach on the My Approach page). I have also trained and worked in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which is a contemporary form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Prior to becoming a psychotherapist I gained Masters degrees in Philosophy at The University of Edinburgh and Psychology at The University of Westminster.

I am a member of the BACP and UKCP.
